Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Web Data Hub ("we", "us") collects when you use the FINANCE for Yahoo Google Sheets add-on (the "Add-on") and this website, and how we use it.

1. How the Add-on works

The Add-on runs only while you use it, inside your Google account. It requests data from the public Yahoo Finance API and writes the results into your spreadsheet. None of your spreadsheet contents or API data are synced to our servers.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your Google account email address, used to identify your trial and subscription.
• Subscription information: the details you enter at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Usage analytics: anonymous counts, such as the number of requests per day or month, used to operate the service and enforce plan limits.
• Add-on logs: an anonymous identifier and a hash of your spreadsheet's locale, ID and time zone, used for diagnostics.
• Website logs: IP address, browser type, language preferences and visit time, collected by our hosting provider when you visit this website.

3. Google permissions

The Add-on asks for these Google permissions, and uses them only to provide its features:

• See, edit, create and delete your Google Sheets spreadsheets: to write formula results into the spreadsheet where you use the Add-on.
• Connect to an external service: to request data from Yahoo Finance and to check your subscription status.
• Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars: to show the Formula Builder, subscription and account dialogs.
• See your primary Google Account email address and basic profile info: to link your trial and subscription to you.

The Add-on's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. How we use information

• To provide, maintain and improve the Add-on.
• To manage trials, subscriptions and billing.
• To answer support requests.
• To send product updates and occasional marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time. We use SendGrid to send email.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

6. Sharing

We share information only with the service providers listed above (Stripe, SendGrid, our hosting and analytics providers) to run the service, or when needed to comply with the law, prevent fraud or security issues, or protect our rights.

7. Retention and deletion

Add-on data stored in your Google account is removed when you uninstall the Add-on. To delete the account and subscription records we hold, email support@webdatahub.com. You can also revoke the Add-on's access at any time in your Google account settings.

8. Children

The service is not directed at anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
